| Abstract |
Fluorescent lamps supplied at high frequency by electronic converters represent a breakthrough in modern high efficiency lighting design. This paper presents results obtained with experimental electronic converters developed in Brazil: it also shows the advantages obtained by using a single three-phase rectifier to supply D.C. current to many individual inverters in large lighting installations. This solution allows both a significant investment reduction and an increase in global efficiency, and should increase the competitiveness of electronic converters against conventional ballasts in large lighting installations. |
