Abstract |
In the course of miniaturization of power electronics higher switching frequencies in power converters are strived for. Thus resonant converters operating in ranges of hundreds of kilohertz are receiving increasing interest. Half-bridge-series-resonant and half-bridge-parallel-resonant converters are well kown in literature and subject of many investigations. Yet exact analysis does not give an easy understandable insight into the behavior of these power converters. In this paper the conversion technique of the parallel resonant converter operating above resonant frequency in the constant voltage mode will be explained. An approximate, but usefull steady state analysis based on classical ac-analysis will be introduced and design consideration for high frequency half bridge parallel resonant converters in the constant voltage mode will be given. Hence an easy to use design tool is developed. With the results gathered from the analysis a power converter is designed and experimental results will prove the vality of the analysis. |
