| Abstract |
The special need of CERN for high direct-current (2000 A), low-voltage (10 V) converters to feed superconducting magnets asks for relatively small converter size. Here is described a 20 kHz - switch-mode solution using MOSFETS as switches for the H-bridge PWM inverter and Schottky diodes in the output rectifier. Preliminary studies, the series converter and first experience with this novel converter application are developed. |
