Abstract |
A new algorithm for current control, and elimination of troublesome commutation failures in a six pulse thyristor bridge is described. The algorithm, suitable for implementation in a fast digital signal microprocessor, is tested by computer simulation, and is found to have higher performances than classic methods, such as digital proportional plus integral (P. I.) controller or adaptive control. The new approach not only eliminates all the commutation failures, but also recovers the bridge to normal operation after a short zero voltage fault in the AC bus. |
