Abstract |
In this study, an on-line optimal speed control method is proposed convenient for application to a seperately excited DC machine driven by a DC chopper and controlled by a microprocessor unit. In the determination of the optimal control law special importance has been given to the transient characteristics and the performance index is chosen to assure a short transient duration while satisfying the constraints on rotor current and voltage. The optimum control law thus obtained is used to determine the duty cycle of the DC chopper. Finally, the simulation results have been given to exhibit the desired effect of the control law on transient and steady state response. |
