Abstract |
In this paper a ferrite magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine for a low power industrial spooling drive with a constant power characteristic at high rotational speeds is discussed. To combine an efficient machine topology at rather low product cost the permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine is proposed. Different rotor topologies are investigated and compared by simulation. Finally a three layer magnet topology was chosen, constructed and experimentally tested. The experimental results confirm a high torque and power capability even in the flux weakening operation above the nominal speed. Further, this machine type shows a significant high efficiency in a wide operation range. |
