| Abstract |
Electric motor adjustable speed drives have established themselves firmly in the market as prime movers for large process machinery . There are only very few known applications where such drives cannot be used . This paper presents the technical concepts, typical hardware solutions, and application examples of all major AC adjustable speed drive systems in use today, both for synchronous and asynchronous (induction) motors. The emphasis is on large drives of high speed and power rating and on drives for turbo machines. |
