Abstract |
This work compares two geometrically identical bearingless permanent magnet synchronous machines in a slotted cylindrical design, one equipped with two separated torque and suspension windings and one equipped with a single combined winding. It is found that the combined winding is superior in terms of thermal utilization and manufacturing effort. |
