Abstract |
The basic function of a power system is to supply electrical energy for customers with
electrical energy as economically as possible and with an acceptable degree of reliability and quality.
Reliability evaluation involves the joint analysis of the generation, transmission and distribution facilities
and is an important aspect in the planning and operation of the power systems. When large power systems
are studied it is very useful to develop a technique for reinforcement based on reliability evaluation for
parts of the systems. In this study, a probabilistic function representing the loss of revenue due to service
interruption is proposed. Also a technique based on sensitivity of this function to the FORs (Forced
Outage Rates) of system components is presented to carry out the reinforcement. |
