A Comparative Study on HCC Method for Grid-Connected LCL Filter with Active Damping

Abstract |
This paper presents a comparative study on the performance of single band hysteresis current control (SBHCC) technique and proposed a modified double band hysteresis current control (MDBHCC) technique for single-phase grid-connected inverters with LCL-filter. The MDBHCC method with proportional resonant (PR) controller provides zero steady-state error at lower switching frequency as compared to SBHCC. To damp-out LCL-filter resonance, an active damping method is introduced. The transient and steady-state performance of the proposed controllers is analyzed. The proposed MDBHCC have the features of unipolar PWM technique with low switching losses. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the analysis and performance of controller. |
