For a ropeless linear elevator (RLE) of which drive source is a permanent-magnet (PM) linear synchronous
motor, the safety control is more important than that in rope-elevator system. In this paper, we propose
a safety control method to stop stably the cage at the next lower or upper floor and to avoid a dangerous
fall and crash just after instantaneous power fault happens abruptly. For main four conditions of cage
motion at the power fault, the safety control method is tested and verified experimentally. |
