| Abstract |
Severe oscillations in the range of 1 to 100 Hz have been encountered in inverter fed induction motor drive systems, especially where there are no external damping-loads such as fan drives. These oscillations may damage the drive system or generate noise. The reason for the oscillations have not been properly understood yet. A simple mechanical model is presented which gives physical insight into the reason for the oscillations. |
