Abstract |
Estimation of the parameters and the state of an induction motor is very important from the viewpoint of control applications. In this paper an extended Kalman filter is employed to estimate the parameters and the state of an inverter fed induction motor. The rotor resistance, magnetizing inductance, rotor flux linkages, and stator currents are estimated. The detailed Kalman filter algorithm and the induction motor model suitable for the Kalman filter are shown including the initial setting of the state and parameter vectors as well as the covariance matrix of the estimation error and the setting of the covariance matrices of the noises. The estimated results for an experimental motor are included to show the usefulness of the Kalman filter. |
