The paper presents a study of a synchronous motor fed by a power electronic inverter used as a wheelchair drive. The main purpose of this work is to exchange existing DC drives in the wheelchairs, which are not satisfying, into the synchronous motor drives. A power electronic inverter using MOSFETs is described. The controlling circuit, based on hysteresis technique, allows one to generate perfect sinus current in a wide output frequency range. For the torque adjustment, authors take under consideration different kinds of controlling algorythms, trying to find simple and efficient method, using sensors other then optical speed/position encoders. |
