Abstract |
Microprocessor based drive systems are gaining popularity not only because of their performance but also because of their diagnostics features which are able to shorten drive installation and repair time. Some additional diagnostics support integrated into the drive controller and the supporting software running on the host microcomputer, not found in most of the present implementations, is presented here. The user has access to all internal variables, statuses and I/O ports which can be presented numerically or graphically. Some fault processing, fault message storage and display methods are also shown. The purpose of this article is not to show a complete rescue, but to present some ideas and implementation details. |
