Abstract |
A new control method for Static Phase Shifter (SPS) connected to a rotary condensor is presented. This method enables a rotary condensor to yield active power wlth fast response due to the flywheel effect at the rotating speed. The relationship between the power and energy from the flywheel effect and the phase shift angle are explained. The results of experiment using a simulator show good agreement with the theoretical energy yield. This study shows that a rotary condenser connected to a main transmission line with SPS can significantly increase the stabllity of the network system. Examples of transmission line faults in double- transmission system are presented. The computer simulations show the possibllity of dynamic power control using the SPS and flywheel effect of the rotary condenser as an energy storage. |
