Abstract |
Reverse recovery of the rectifier diode becomes the dominant source of diode power dissipation in high frequency power supply topologies. Optimization of the lifetime control techniques and high efficiency rectifier diode processes result in device performance compatable with power supply topologies operating with switching frequencies from 100 kHz to 1 mega hertz. This paper investigates the optimization tradeoffs for rectifier diodes in the high frequency power supply application. |
