Abstract |
This paper describes the modelling of the three phase propulsion system of multisystem-locomotives for high speed or freight train application. Special modular circuit designs with GTO-thyristors for use at different AC and DC voltage supply systems are derived and compared. The best concept for given application is chosen, taking into consideration different aspects of circuit designing. The electrical behaviour in steady and dynamical operation is computed by using the simulation tool NETASIM. The results of system optimization by digital simulation, supplemented by system tests in power lab, are a valuable help to an effective system design and shorter periods of commissioning on rail. |
