Abstract |
Due to increasing pollution caused by cars and busses, many communities in Europe are planning to introduce electrically driven busses for public urban transport. This paper describes the control concept for a prototype bus driven by two separately fed and controlled induction machines with a maximum speed of 6000 rpm and a large field weakening range. lt includes the field oriented drive control of the machines as well as the superimposed vehicle control of the whole system, which provides the torque reference values for the motors. The entire control will be performed by two microprocessors. Safe operation aspects including an Anti-Blocking-System (ABS) and a Slip-Control (ASR) are taken into consideration. Simulations have been carried out in order to estimate the behaviour and the drive characteristics of the electric vehicle. Results are dealt with in the paper. |
