Abstract |
Variable Structure System approach to the control of a brushless motor in the robotic area is considered. A cascaded control structure with separated loops for velocity and current control is used. Two different techniques are used for the design of the two control loops, in order to achieve robustness with respect to variations of electrical and mechanical parameters. The inner current controller has been synthesized using a Sliding Mode approach. For the outer velocity regulator, a Binary Control approach has been adopted, getting robustness to parameter variations without high-frequency chattering. Simulations are presented to show robustness properties of the proposed control scheme. |
