In this paper, a converter is derived by adding an inductor in series with the ac-load of the conventional parallel resonant converter (PRC), which is called LCL resonant converter (LCL-RC). It is shown that this converter has more desirable features than the convenional PRC, such as the high dynamic control characteristics and the reduced component stresses. A steady state analysis gave a set of characteristic curves which allowed a systematic design procedure for this converter in the zero-voltage-switching region. Experimental results of prototype of a 150 watt-20 KHz full bridge LCL-RC are also presented. |
