| Abstract |
A new Voltage Sourced Converter (VSC) based system for High Voltage Direct Current transmission
(HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) applications with a power rating of more
than 200 MW and a DC-Link voltage up to ± 150 kV has been developed. The design of the system
and the converters are discussed. Special attention is also paid to the failure modes and the series
connection of Press Pack IGBT. |
