Abstract |
This paper describes the design and application of a zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converter for a DC servo drive system. Comparisons are made between the zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converter fed DC drive and a pulse-width modulated converter fed DC drive in terms of the frequency spectrum of their AC ripples in the output current and input line current. Experimental results show that the application of the zero voltage switching quasi-resonant converter to DC drives result in lower switching losses and reduced harmonic contents. |
