Abstract   This study presents a new online rotor resistance/temperature detection technique for utilization inspeed sensorless control. The technique proposed is based on analysis and exploitation of inherentmachine saliencies. For exploitation of the machine saliencies, a transient voltage pulse excitationmethod was accomplished. Influence of temperature on saliency parameters are utilized to adjust rotorparameters in order to establish accurate control performance. Measurement results presented, verifythe accuracy of the proposed method by comparing estimated and sensor-based values of torque andslip.
