   A Novel Modular DC-DC Converter Based on High-Frequency-Link for MVDC Distribution Application   [View]

 Abstract   In this paper, a novel modular dc-dc converter (MDCC) based on high-frequency-link (HFL) is proposed for MVDC distribution application. The proposed MDCC employs series-connected submodules (SMs) in the MVDC side, and single active bridges (SABs) in parallel in the low voltage dc (LVDC) side. Besides, the MDCC can be operated as a dc breaker when dc short circuit faults occur in the MV side. In addition, the operation principle of SMs and the power transmission characterization of HFL are analyzed, based on which a control method for the MDCC is presented. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed MDCC and the control method.
