Abstract |
Operating frequency of a power converter is the key factor to achieve a compact design. However, increasing the switching frequency increases loss components in semiconductors and magnetic materials. Power modules based on SiC and magnetic materials based on nanocrystalline have lower losses compared to classical devices such as silicon based power modules or ferrite magnetic materials in a certain frequency range. A 50 kW compact and efficient prototype for fast charging is designed and constructed that SiC power modules and naocrystalline magnetic materials are utilized in the converter to achieve a compact and efficient converter. The constructed hardware and some practical aspects of the design are presented in this paper. |
