EVALUATION AND COMPARISON OF POWER CONVERSION TOPOLOGIES
Author(s) | I. Cohen | |||||
Abstract | The power density of coverters is determined by their frequency of operation, the amount of energy processed in each cycle, the total energy stored in the converters' reactive elements and the power dissipation in the system. A method for evaluation and comparison of converter topologies is based on the above concepts and allows to identify relative benefits or shortcomings. The method allows also to estimate the effect of frequency change on the power density of a converter.
