Abstract |
Various types of faults in a power inverter for AC machine drives have been investigated. A knowledge-based fault diagnosis system has been built which can identify the nature and location of the faults through recognising the patterns of the three phase current at the machine input terminals. The structure of the system is described. Experimental and simulation results of a typical fault in the inverter are presented. |
