Abstract |
This paper presents a comparison between the ideal and the real characteristics of Zero-Voltage Switching Quasi-Resonant Converters (ZVS-QRCs). The theoretical characteristics (already presented in the literature) have been calcuIated by considering an efficiency equal to one that means ideal semiconductor and passive devices. In this paper the real characteristics are reproduced qualitatively by computer simulation, taking into account the losses in each converter element. For this purpose approximation formulas are used. The simulation results are confronted to measurements that were taken with different breadboards ZVS-QRCs. These experimental results are also discussed. |
