Abstract |
Soft switching inverter topologies offer reduced switching losses and allow higher switching frequencies. Many of the proposed topologies only permit inverter switching at sampled instants in time. There have also been some efforts to combine the benefits of soft switching with the well established pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique. This paper reviews a proposed topology and analyses its operation in terms of device stresses and PWM capability. Effects of load variations and resonant tank layout are considered. Simulation as well as experimental results are given. |
