A Neural Network Controller for Power Converters based on a Computational Optimal Control Surface

Abstract |
A neural controller implementing an optimum algorithm as a control law is proposed as an alternative to control power converters. The algorithm minimizes a cost function in the system by computational simulation, generating a control surface. An agalog neural network (ANN) learns to approximate this control table by means of a learning algorithm. A simple electronic implementation of this controller is proposed and applied to PWM DC/DC power converter circuit. Experimental results show a good improvement in response to the circuit and confirms the validity of the neural network approach. |
