 Abstract   The article addresses problems of the inverter switching state determination at sliding mode control in case of a three phase, voltage source inverter feeding a symmetrical AC motor drive system. In the brief overwiev of sliding mode control, the facts which directly influence the modulator design are highlighted. The properties of controlled system and three-phase inverters which influence the forming of the modulation are described. Three modulators with tabulated mappings are presented.
