Abstract |
This paper presents the modeling and control of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) driven by awind turbine on a real time digital simulator. Real time digital simulators are widely used in the electricpower industry by utilities, equipment manufacturers and research organizations. In this paper, twoscenarios are considered, the first with a detailed switching model of the back-to-back Voltage SourceConverter (VSC) controlling the DFIG and the second with a simplified model of the VSC based on theconcept of dynamic average-value modeling. The hardware and software tools used for the real timesimulation are developed by RTDS Technologies Inc. |
