| Abstract |
This paper describes a joint project carried out by UFRJ, CEPEL and REDUC partially sponsored by PROCEL (Brazilian Program on Electric Energy Conservation). The main objective was to study the application of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD) systems to control the flow of oil in substitution to throttling valves. Energy saving, payback time and power harmonic aspects are considered. |
