Recent research has indicated that iron loss may play an important role in establishing accurate vector control in both synchronous reluctance and induction machines. However, usual procedures for rotor flux estimation in induction machines ignore the existence of the iron loss. The paper evaluates detuning introduced by iron loss in standard schemes and presents modified schemes for rotor flux computation that include iron loss representation and hence provide compensation of the detuning in steady-state operation, which is otherwise present. The modified estimators, proposed in the paper, are the two common types that rely on measurement of stator currents and rotor speed, and on measurement of stator voltages and stator currents, respectively. |
