Abstract |
This paper presents a sliding mode speed control of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) including practical sampling and switching frequencies and a method for speed, position and induced e.m.f. estimation also through application of the sliding mode technique. The observer of the induced e.m.f is implemented using analog devices and the estimated speed and position variables are numerically calculated. Information about rotor acceleration is essential in speed sliding mode control implementation and it is obtained by the calculation of the discrete derivative of estimated speed. Simulation results are used to analyze speed control using the estimated signal in the control algorithm. Experimental results already obtained in open loop confirm the good performance of the observer. |
