Abstract |
A concept of unity power factor, sinusoidal current ac/ac voltage converter and its control idea is described. A classical ac/ac thyristor converter is equiped in parallel full controlled ac/dc converter. This additional converter operates as an active filter. An actual current rate is
limited only by supply line inductance. The active filter actual currents rate depends on the additional inductance on ac side and dc voltage. The paper describes conditions of load and active
filter inductance of the active filter and dc voltage which are required to produce sinusoidal current input. Results of simulation and laboratory tests of the modified ac/ac converter which controls
continuously output power and input current are presented. |
