 Abstract   The paper presents results of simulation research on different systems to compensation of reactive power and line current harmonics of a thyristor stand to regenerative braking of internal combustion engine locomotives. The research was carried on a passive filter and also on 1, 2 and 3 sections hybrid filter. There were determined the main parameters and characteristics of the filters. It has been shown that the section hybrid filter is advantageous for high power thyristor stands.
