| Abstract |
A new compact drive based on state-of-the-art IGBT technology is presented.
Control of the 600 V /400 A modules is performed by a single digital signal processor. Due to the calculating power of the processor, most functions including fast current control are realized in software, thus minimizing the hardware costs. The inverter
supports a three phase maintenance-free induction motor. The paper describes the application of the drive system to mine locomotives. Practical experiences at several locomotives show the excellent properties and the robustness of the new drive. |
