Abstract |
This paper presents the experimental study of a bidirectional buck-boost dc-dc
converter topology intended for use in electric vehicle drives. Such a converter arrangement allows the adjustament of the motor supply voltage during motoring operations and the control
of the motor braking current for the recovery of the vehicle kinetic energy in an ultracapacitor tank. The paper discusses modes of operation of the proposed converter topology and reports experimental results taken from a prototype which was constructed using IGBT modules rated 600 V, 100 A and a tank of ultra capacitors each rated 470 F, 2.3 V. |
