Telecommunication equipments use extensively distributed power supply systems. In consequence power
converter design becomes critical for determining system performance. As electronic systems grow in complexity,
demanding for higher power and smaller sizes, they need increasing power density converters. This paper presents a new circuit structure for high power density, high efficiency DC/DC converters operating at high frequency with minimum switching losses. Resonant reset allows to increase the converter operating frequency by a factor of 4 without increasing substantially conmutation losses. These technics have become the basis for the development of a 60 W, 5 V output
converter with very high efficiency. |
