The paper presents an approach to reliably detect and treat sensor faults in drive systems. For detectingerrors in current and rotor position sensors, model-based methods (sensorless position estimation, cur-rent observers) are used. Sensor faults in the drive system may cause erroneous or oscillating torques. Invehicles with wheel hub drives on the rear axle and without additional driving safety systems, such faultscould even result in driving conditions that are difficult to control. The error detection system is verifiedby measurements on a test bench. Vehicle tests on a test track prove the effectiveness of the proceduresfor in-vehicle use. |
