Abstract |
This paper applies the describing function method to the PWM feedback
control systems in order to find eliminating limit cycles conditions. Firstly, the paper presents an exact determination of the describing function associated to the modulator by using a suitable explicit expression of the switching instants extracted from the subharmonic modulating technique applied to the inverters. Then, the paper proposes a simple criterion that gives sufficient conditions to assure the absence of limit cycles of period multiple of that characteristic of the modulator. Some simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed criterion. |
