Abstract |
Because of their large power demand railway vehicles operated on the single-phase a.c.-line till now require GTO-equipped four-quadrant converters (4QC) operating at low
switching frequency. The low switching frequency causes remarkable line current distortions and restricts the ability to attenuate unwanted line current harmonics. The rising power
capability of IGBTs recently allows to build IGBT-equiped 40Cs with a considerably increased switching frequency. This paper presents a novel control strategy for IGBT-4QCs,
which utilizes the upgraded switching frequency for low distorted line current, active attenuation of unwanted line current harmonics and a good dynamic performance. |
