Abstract |
This paper will present a concept for designing complex manufacturing systems involving
large numbers of interacting drive systems and power electronics equipment.
The aim is to present a concept which enables the engineer to design applications and
the information flow of manufacturing equipment application wide. The processed
information includes set values, control algorithms and measurement data. The concept
enables engineers to change those set values and control algorithms swiftly and
without major redesign, adapt a whole set of drives to new requirements and provide
the operator with a homogenous user interface for controlling and handling the production
process. The new approach furthermore highly increases the re-usability of
major application components ranging from monitoring software to control algorithms
and machine topology, reducing the costs of application design and development
greatly. |
