Abstract |
The use of 3-Ievel inverters to supply high power induction motor drives in many industrial applications is advantageous. Then, the decrease of the switching frequency allows the use of very high power switches like GTOs .. Variable Structure Control, largely developed to control induction motors
supplied with 2-Ievel inverters, achieves very fast torque responses. It consists of two separated control loops for stator flux and electromagnetic torque. The control is able to change directly the inverter state through an optimal commutation table. With the combination of Variable Structure Control and 3-Ievel inverter, it is possible to build more than one commutation table to control the induction motor. Through these tables, improved .simulation results are carried out with low switching frequency and fast torque response. |
