Abstract   To be able to decide if the skin effect is negligible or not by a high-dynamic induction motor-drive it is important to know the range of the available rotor frequency. Using the supposed structure it is possible to model the machine and calculate the model-error in the practical range of the drive. A transient squirrel cage induction machine model is described using rotor-fixed co-ordinate system. The effect of deep bars are considered. An analytical calculation of the necessary parameters is given. The output of the relative simple model and the values of the machine match each other very good in the practical frequency range. The error of the impedance of the model is limited in the magnitude and in the phase, too.
