Abstract |
This paper presents the models of electrical machines implemented in TCad-a simulation environment for high-performance analysis of power electronic and motion control systems- and demonstrates their use for comprehensive analyses of normal and fault operation of motion control
system. The first part of the paper summarizes the desired characteristics of these models and gives basic
modelling concepts (including the network topology of the models). The second part presents the approach to modelling magnetic saturation and evaluating model parameters. In the third part a representative analysis example is presented of faults occurring in a sophisticated induction motor drive
system. Such analyses are useful in determining how various kinds of fault can be identified through available waveform data; this knowledge, in turn, can be utilized in real time diagnostics. |
