Abstract |
Design of high reliability power converters needs to keep into account thermal effects. In this work the results of the electro-thermal analysis of a 2kW-100kHz IGBTbased DC-DC resonant converter performed during its design phase are here presented.
The paralleled structure of these power devices, lead to a thermal behavior that can significantly differ from that of not paralleled ones. Simulation results exhibit how under some realistic circumstances, small defects during the packaging process and consequent
irregularities in thermal coupling between elementary device's cell at the paralleled level can lead to hot spots that can destroy the power device. |
