Abstract |
The paper describes a shunt active filter with an output LC filter and a sliding mode control circuit. The active filter laws, based on the sliding mode control theory, are derived to reduce voltage distortion at the connection point of the non-linear load and to
cancel harmonic components from the system side. A switching optimisation method is introduced to minimise the switching frequency. Simulation results show an excellent reduction of current and voltage distortion for a low switching frequency. This control circuit
is tested on an IGBT active filter and experimental results show the effectiveness of the sliding mode controlled active filter. |
